The right to vote is a constitutional right granted to citizens of India by the Indian Constitution. This right permits all citizens who are eligible to participate in the electoral process by choosing their representatives through popular vote.

The electoral process ensures that the representatives are elected by the electorate and are thus held accountable for their actions. As elections are held at regular intervals as stipulated in the Constitution, the ideals of democracy are upheld through free and fair elections.

Individuals who wish to vote are required to register with the Election Commission of India, a body set up to monitor and conduct elections in the country. Each state has a state Election Commission that is responsible for conducting elections in that respective state.

The Election Commission of Telangana issues voter ID cards, known as EPIC (Electoral Photo Identity Card) to individuals who have registered as voters. This card acts as an identity card and is to be presented at polling booths at the time of elections.
